Choose your interests during the introduction, or start with the defaults. Read, save and share from Today. Discover lets you search for a quote or explore topics. No account is required.

Home Screen widgets

Open Widgets to create a design. “Start with a look” opens a Home Screen design; choose its size and edit it. Save, then add Adelante through your device’s widget gallery. On iPhone or iPad, touch and hold the installed widget, choose Edit Widget, then select your saved design. Widget setup in the app has instructions for each supported surface.

A widget has not updated

Open Adelante and save the intended design, then check the name selected on your installed widget. Your operating system controls refresh timing. Saving requests a refresh but cannot guarantee an exact delivery time. Lock Screen, tinted and accented appearances are also controlled by the system.

Apple Watch

In versions that include the Watch companion, open Adelante on your paired iPhone to sync eligible quotes. After the first sync, those quotes are available offline. Tap a quote for another; turn the Digital Crown to scroll. Meaning and source are available when supplied with the quote. Help replays the introduction. Add Adelante through a compatible watch face’s complication picker or the Smart Stack widget gallery. Apple Watch pairs with iPhone, not iPad.

Reminders

Reminders are optional. Choose a time and weekdays in Settings → Reminders and allow notifications when asked. Check Focus / Do Not Disturb and notification settings if a reminder is missing. Open Adelante after travelling to update the schedule for your timezone.

Moving your saved data

Settings → Data & privacy can save or restore a backup. Backups include personal preferences, saved quote IDs and widget designs, so keep them private. Restoring replaces the choices on that device. Reminder schedules remain device-specific. Adelante has no account-based cloud backup.

Offline reading

Reading, saving, discovery and widget editing work with the bundled or previously downloaded library. Versions with live services can receive corrections and library updates. A connection failure keeps the last usable library.

Report a quote

Open the quote’s Source & context section and prepare a correction report, or email support. Include the quote, author and permanent quote ID if available. Preparing a report opens a share sheet; nothing is sent until you choose to send it. Please do not include a personal backup unless it is needed and you intend to share its contents.

Privacy

Read the privacy notice for local storage, optional reporting and cloud-service details. You can turn optional reporting off and clear personal data in Settings → Data & privacy.

Create and share a quote

Open a quote and choose Create & share. Choose a Post, Story or transparent Sticker, then adjust its lettering, palette, alignment and text size. The exact words and author stay together. Share image/sticker opens your system share sheet; you can save the PNG or choose another app. For text, use Copy quote & source.

On iPhone, Copy sticker for a story lets you paste a transparent design over a photo or video in Instagram. Add to iMessage stickers saves it in Adelante's sticker picker: in a conversation, tap +, then Stickers, and select Adelante. Tap a sticker to use it, or hold and drag it onto a message. Clear saved stickers in the editor removes the local collection; already-sent stickers remain.
